MISSION
STATEMENT

The Metropolitan Association of Professional Travel Agents, better known as MAPTA, is a not-for-profit dual travel association comprised of Travel Advisors and Travel Suppliers. Travel Advisors are primarily located in, but not limited to New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania. Travel Suppliers are WORLDWIDE. MAPTA’s objective is for Travel Advisors and Travel Suppliers to network together to exchange travel information  and develop business relationships by conducting educational travel programs, hotel site inspections, trade show, familiarization trips and social events.

MEMBERSHIP

MAPTA Membership Requirements

TRAVEL ADVISORS/CRUISE PLANNERS
To be considered for membership, an applicant must have a minimum of two (2) full years' experience in the travel industry.  The applicant must be employed full time as a Travel Advisor
or Cruise Planner or affiliated with a travel agency as an independent Travel Advisor or Independent Cruise planner. The applicant must be on their agency’s ARC list and have an IATAN card. 

 
 
TRAVEL SUPPLIERS

To be considered for membership,  an applicant must have a minimum of (3) full years experience in the travel industry WORLDWIDE  in a capacity other than a Travel  Advisor. Supplier categories include Tour Operators, Wholesalers, Airlines, Hotel Representatives and Government Tourist Offices.
